Sowing the Seed: Twelve Acts of Collective Worship

This A4 booklet, produced to celebrate 200 years of schools in East Anglia, offers twelve 'assemblies’ to mark this significant anniversary.

Through the stories they unpack, they enable pupils to connect with the story of their own community and their forebears; with the wider community of East Anglia and with schools elsewhere in the world.

The acts of collective worship are written from a Christian perspective, but can easily be adapted for other settings, perhaps even for a school history project.

Each begins with ‘gathering’ and ‘engaging’, but they are designed also to evoke in pupils a response and each concludes with a ‘sending’. We offer them to you so that together our children may "look back with thanksgiving; outwards with vision and forward in hope".
